In recent years there has been the re-establishment of the ministry of apostles in the church of Jesus Christ worldwide. Here in Australia , Revival Ministries Australia [RMA], was formed in January 1998 and registered by April 1998 with an approved constitution as a not-for-profit Christian ministry and Christian church. RMA has been an integral part of that re-establishment of apostles in the church. Since June/July 1999, RMA has conducted short-term training schools twice yearly with students attending from two to six weeks of full time training. During the years many teaching manuals have been written and used in the training schools. These teaching manuals have also been used in overseas nations. More currently, along with two books and some teaching tracts, the manuals form the basis for discipleship schools, wherein many ministers and other committed disciples are studying the word together.
In 2006 we conducted our first longer term training school for three months. This school was prepared and presented for the training and equipping of overseas brethren who were already functioning in ministry. A number of Australian brethren also completed the training.
We seek to follow Paul's practice in Acts 19 and be obedient to the Great Commission that our Lord Jesus gave us. Paul the apostle spent two years in a teaching centre in Ephesus. He taught the word of God daily.
As a result the Gospel spread throughout Asia Minor; "So the word of the Lord was growing mightily and prevailed"and "all who lived in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus." (Acts 19:20&10)
In giving us the Great Commission in Matthew, Jesus commanded us "Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you."(Matt.28:19-20) We give ourselves to this teaching ministry.
The Lord gave us a commission in late 1997 to establish Revival Ministries Australia , to encourage revival in Australia and in overseas countries. To fulfil the commission, we need to train and equip the saints for ministry, raising workers for the harvest (Matt.9:37-38, Lu.10:2) and fathering sons in order to bring the church to maturity. SHILOH International School of Ministry has been established for this purpose. Initially we understood the school to be that school which was based at SHILOH centre Toowoomba, but we now understand that the school of ministry is multi-campused. That means that there has been a multiplication of SHILOH schools in some other nations and we see this multiplication continuing in many more nations.
"For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings" Heb.2:10. It is time for the servants of God to 'become sons' and begin to walk in the inheritance that God has reserved for us.
Our vision is to see many sons walking in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ so that He can be manifest in all the earth.
a) to equip the saints, b) to do the work of ministry, c) to bring edification to the body of Christ" (Eph. 4:12).
This means bringing each person to the full expression of ministry within the church through teaching and training. The release of well-trained ministers will cause the church to grow up into all that Christ intends as revealed in the New Testament; to raise many sons in ministry, bringing all the saints into the experience of sonship.
To raise up workers for the harvest, to bring about the effectual evangelisation of our generation, in preparation for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, to rule and reign in the earth. Vital to the fulfilment of this purpose is the raising and releasing of apostles in every nation, to father the church and lead the church back to the word of God as it is written.
To build the house of God [church] in every place according to the 'master plan' (1 Cor.3:10) in fulfilment of the vision of Zechariah 4, "not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord of Hosts."
The church must be built according to the Word of God; Jesus is building His church (Matt.16:18) and for this purpose He gave "some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, some to be pastors and teachers." Eph.4:11.
Through teaching, making known "the revelation of the mystery", "preaching the unsearchable riches of Christ"; teaching and training in the Word of God; experience in ministry of the gifts of the Holy Spirit; group involvement in prayer and worship; participation in ministry; training in teaching and preaching the Word of God.
Trainees will be involved in praise and worship daily and training in prayer. There will be daily breaking of bread, with students learning to minister the table. Students will be involved in practical ministry opportunities at weekends.
We believe the LORD is preparing His church to be a glorious "bride-church" and is raising up workers [sons] in His church to go into the harvest. This training will provide a means for many saints to be equipped and released into fruitful ministry. We are actively involved in the apostolic reformation of the church of Jesus Christ and teach apostolic doctrine and revelation. This means the restoration of the church according to the Scriptures.
