Is Anyone in Charge?

Why am I here? Is there any purpose for my life?

Where did the universe come from?

How do we exist?

Many people say there is no purpose or reason for existing. Many say that the whole universe is an accident; that somehow it all just happened.

Is it any wonder that there are so many people who feel empty, worthless, hopeless and devoid of purpose when most of us were taught to believe such things?

There is another story!

There is better news!

The first phrase of the Bible is very powerful. It says:

“In the beginning God…” Genesis1:1

There was a beginning – and God was there!

If you have questions in your heart about why you exist, the best person to ask is the One who was there in the beginning – GOD!

But who is God?

He is the Creator!

“In the beginning God made the heavens and the earth.”

Genesis 1:1

Many believe the world came into being without God. If this is you, consider how God answered a man who was trying to justify himself before God:

“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know!”

Job 38:4-5

The first humbling thing to know is that we do not know it all! But God does and He was the One who was there in the beginning and throughout history.

God said,“To whom then will you liken Me, or to whom shall I be equal? Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things, who brings out their host (stars) by number; He calls them by name.” Isaiah 40:25-26

He is YOUR Creator and Life-Giver

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him: male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it, have dominion…”

Genesis 1:27-28

God made you to look and to act like Him. He made you to look after the earth and bring His Presence into the earth. His plan was to have the earth filled with people who look and act like Him!

“And the LORD God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”

Genesis 2:7

God literally breathed His breath (spirit) into us. We live because God gave us life. He is your Life-Giver.

The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

Job 33:4

God is in charge and He loves you!

How do I know God?

Jesus said, “He who has seen Me, has seen the Father.” John 14:9

God has revealed Himself in Jesus!

“God was manifested in the flesh”

1Timothy 3:16

God has come into the world “in the likeness of men and was found in appearance as a man.” Philippians 2:7-8

If you desire to know God’s character, look at Jesus!

Jesus is God revealed!

This is what it means to call Him “the Son of God”

There is somebody in charge and He is good! He made everything and He made you for a good purpose. The way to know Him is to know Jesus.

He wants to reveal Himself to you!

Ask God to reveal Himself and His purpose for your life to you today!
